About

Why Candid Dog Training?

When I initially sought advice on how to help my reactive dog, I found an abundance of trainers whose priority is to retain clients or stroke egos.

At a time I felt directionless and despondent, what I really needed was to know three things:

  • What the problem was.

  • How to fix the problem.

  • How to ensure the problem stays fixed.

And I needed to know it fast. Anyone living with an aggressive or fearful dog knows time is of the essence.

That is why I started Candid Dog Training. You will always know where you stand and where you will end up. You will find my instruction deeply compassionate, but ultimately Candid.

I take the BS out of dog training.

Candid Dog training is here in Brisbane

I’m Chris, this is Echo.

After 12 years in the Army fulfilling a number of different roles I left to start throwing people off of cliffs. During my foray into outdoor recreation life, I was fortunate enough to rescue Echo.

As fun as a young Belgian Malinois can be, because of her poor upbringing, she had severe aggression towards both people and other dogs. This is where I learned how difficult and heart breaking it can be to have a reactive dog in an urban environment This prompted me to seek education and to help her become the dog she is today. I have spent the last few years dedicating my efforts to dogs and their owners, primarily in behavioural modification. Working with countless likeminded dogs and their owners, i have learnt that behavioural issues don’t discriminate. Any dog, any breed, any background can have issues. My mission is to empower people who once felt like I did with Echo and to show them the way forward.

People get a dog because they want a friend. People hire a dog trainer because they don’t want their friend to be an asshole
