Training may occur in public spaces, client homes, or other agreed environments.
Candid Dog Training does not operate a permanent training facility.

4. Mandatory Behavioural Assessment

A Behavioural Assessment is a mandatory entry point for most training services unless explicitly stated otherwise.

The assessment is used to evaluate behaviour, risk, suitability, and owner capacity.
Candid Dog Training reserves the right to decline or discontinue services where safety or welfare concerns exist.

5. No Guarantees

Dog training outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Behaviour change depends on multiple factors including consistency, environment, genetics, learning history, and owner follow-through. Timeframes and results vary between dogs.

No specific results or outcomes are guaranteed.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

  • providing accurate information about their dog’s behaviour, health, and history

  • disclosing medical conditions, medications, or behavioural changes

  • following training instructions and safety requirements

  • maintaining control of their dog at all times

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in suspension or termination of services.

7. Health & Safety Requirements

  • Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, flea, and worming treatments

  • Dogs showing signs of illness must not attend sessions

  • Female dogs in season must not attend group classes

  • Required equipment must be used as instructed

Sessions may be ended immediately if safety is compromised.

8. Payments, Packages & Cancellations

  • All services must be paid in advance

  • Training is primarily delivered via packages

  • Packages are non-refundable and subject to expiry

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule

  • Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit the session

9. Risk & Liability

Working with dogs involves inherent risk, including injury or property damage.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Candid Dog Training is not liable for loss, damage, or injury arising from training services. Clients remain responsible for their dog’s behaviour at all times.

10. Video, Photography & Media

Training sessions may be photographed or recorded for training, educational, or promotional purposes. All media remains the property of Candid Dog Training.

Requests to opt out must be made in writing prior to sessions commencing.

11. Intellectual Property

All training materials, frameworks, exercises, and written content remain the intellectual property of Candid Dog Training and may not be reproduced or used commercially without permission.

12. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws.
Client data is not sold or shared outside service delivery requirements.

13. Changes to Terms

Candid Dog Training may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the website or services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

TRAINING SERVICES – Specific Terms & Conditions

This section applies to all dog training and behaviour services provided by Candid Dog Training and is agreed to at the time of booking.

1. Mandatory Assessment & Entry Requirements

  • A Behavioural Assessment is a mandatory entry point for most training services unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  • The assessment determines suitability, risk level, and the recommended training pathway.

  • Completion of an assessment does not guarantee acceptance into ongoing training.

Candid Dog Training reserves the right to decline, pause, or redirect training where safety, welfare, or feasibility concerns exist.

2. Owner-Led Training Model

Training services are owner-led.

This means:

  • progress depends on the owner’s consistency and application of the training plan

  • training is not a substitute for ongoing owner involvement

  • responsibility for outcomes rests primarily with the owner

Candid Dog Training provides guidance, structure, and coaching — not guaranteed results.

3. No Guarantees of Behavioural Outcomes

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • dog behaviour is influenced by genetics, learning history, environment, stress, and handling

  • training outcomes and timelines vary between dogs

  • no specific results, timelines, or behavioural changes are guaranteed

Candid Dog Training makes no guarantees regarding behaviour modification, obedience reliability, or long-term outcomes.

4. Client Disclosure Obligations

You agree to disclose fully and accurately:

  • your dog’s behavioural history, including any bite incidents or aggression

  • medical conditions, medications, or pain-related issues

  • changes in behaviour, health, or environment during the training period

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in immediate termination of services.

5. Safety, Handling & Equipment

Clients must:

  • maintain physical control of their dog at all times

  • follow handling, management, and safety instructions provided

  • use required equipment as instructed (including collars, leads, muzzles where applicable)

Candid Dog Training may end a session immediately if safety is compromised, without refund.

6. Packages, Expiry & Use of Sessions

  • Training is primarily delivered via pre-purchased packages

  • Packages are non-refundable

  • Packages must be used within the stated validity period

  • Unused sessions expire after the package end date

Packages are not transferable without written approval.

7. Cancellations & Missed Sessions

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule

  • Late cancellations or no-shows result in forfeiture of the session

  • Repeated cancellations may result in termination of services

Weather-dependent sessions may be rescheduled at Candid Dog Training’s discretion.

8. Risk Acknowledgement & Liability

You acknowledge that working with dogs involves inherent risk, including:

  • bites, scratches, or injury

  • damage to property

  • emotional or behavioural stress

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Candid Dog Training is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from training services

  • you accept full responsibility for your dog’s behaviour and actions

9. Termination of Training Services

Candid Dog Training may terminate training immediately if:

  • safety risks arise

  • information has been withheld or misrepresented

  • instructions are consistently ignored

  • the dog’s behaviour presents unacceptable risk

Outstanding fees remain payable. No refunds are provided for terminated packages.

10. Media Recording During Training

  • Training sessions may be photographed or recorded for training, educational, or promotional purposes

  • All media remains the property of Candid Dog Training

  • Identifying personal information will not be disclosed without consent

Opt-out requests must be submitted in writing prior to sessions commencing.

11. Acceptance of Training Terms

By booking and participating in training services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Training-Specific Terms & Conditions, in addition to the general Terms & Conditions of Candid Dog Training.
